Doyle, Dane, Bernbach (DDB) is a very well known advertising agency headquartered in New York City. However, because of the copious work that they have done for Anheuser-Busch, their office in Chicago is their most active office. A lot of great work has come out of their Chicago office for Anheuser-Busch, but my personal favorite is the advertising campaign titled "Real Men of Genius." There are various television spots and radio advertisements within this campaign. The concept behind these ads is truly genius. The spots highlight people that are similar to those we all know. For example... "Bud Light salutes you... Mr. Really Really Really Bad Dancer" or "Bud Light salutes you... Mr. Way to Much Cologne Wearer." I feel that these spots relate to a broad audience as well as being quite humorous. If one does not find one of the particular spots comical, rest assured that one will get to them. I liked how in these ads, DDB linked the product Bud Light, to any average Joe. I thought that this was a lot more effective than using celebrity endorsements to sell products.
DDB has done other work for Budweiser as well, consisting of both the True. campaign and the "Wasssssup?" campaign. In both of these, DDB also incorporates humor. However, I find the "Real Men of Genius" spots to be much more entertaining and enjoyable to watch.
